Questions? Ask away, my friend!

  • How do I know when I’m ready to work with a coach?
The most important thing is that you feel ready for a coaching relationship. Coaching can help you take the next steps to move beyond whatever it is that’s holding you back from reaching your full potential. And coaching works best when you’re ready and excited to dive into your goals, daily decisions, and mindset blocks. If that’s where you’re at, you’re ready for coaching!
  • I’m still in debt. Is it really a good idea for me to spend money on a coach?
Consider this: How much is it costing you to try and navigate debt repayment on your own? Whether it’s a financial decision, a career move, or a combination of both—helping our clients get out of debt is one of the things we do best. If you’re floundering in debt and feel like you can’t get your head above water, a coach can provide the clarity and support you need to make decisions around repayment strategies and career choices that will help you get out of debt for good. Of course, you want to make sure that you can still afford to work with a coach while you’re repaying your debt. We’re happy to help you explore this on a discovery call—and we’ll never try to sell our services if we don’t think it’s a good financial decision for you.
  • Will you give me investment advice?
In a coaching capacity, we will never give you specific investment advice or sell you any investment products! We may make suggestions about investment goals and strategies in a more general sense. And while our founder, Khiara, is not currently licensed to give specific investment advice or sell investment products, she’s working on her CFP® certification so she can offer her clients financial planning support and services when they’re ready for it. Stay tuned!
  • My income varies, so I’ve never been able to keep a spending plan. Can you still help me?
Absolutely! At AncHER®, we don’t believe spending plans should be restrictive. Instead, we use spending plans as tools to give you freedom—and oftentimes our spending plans are more like guidelines than rigid rules for your spending. Ultimately, we want to help you create freedom with your income—and that is perfectly possible with an income that fluctuates. We’ll focus on strategies and actions that make your fluctuating income easy to manage.
  • I’m not struggling financially. Will coaching still help me?
You bet. We can all benefit from mentors and accountability partners, especially when it comes to career and personal finances. A coach may be able to help you optimize the decisions you’re making, identify hidden opportunities, motivate you to stay on track, and help you stop or prevent bad habits from taking over.
  • Is it better for me to work with a financial advisor or a financial coach? What’s the difference?
Financial coaches and financial advisors work with money in very different ways. While both may provide financial advice and education, financial coaches focus on money stories, money mindsets, and the behavioral aspects of money to help their clients gain power over their personal finances and make more informed or intentional decisions. Financial advisors, on the other hand, excel in giving their clients investment advice and creating financial plans for long-term goals such as retirement. While many financial advisors can and do focus on much more than just retirement, the priority is less on financial behaviors and more on specific financial tasks and strategies. Many clients do well with working with a financial coach at first—sometimes for years or decades—and then decide it’s time to transition to an advisor when they need more strategic help with investments and long-term plans. That’s why AncHER® is planning to incorporate financial planning into our service offerings in the near future. Our hope is to help our clients with their financial needs at all stages of their financial journey so they don’t have to worry about developing a relationship with an unfamiliar financial partner down the road.
  • I hate my job, but I make too much money to be able to leave. Can you still help me?
Absolutely. You always have choices in front of you, and sometimes you need an objective partner who can help you spot choices and opportunities you didn’t know were there. Your needs and desires are our top priority—so while we might challenge you to get out of your comfort zone, we’ll never make recommendations that don’t ultimately feel right for you.
